Scortia Quansah is a researcher specialising in children's literature and digital storytelling. An alumna of the University of Cape Coast, she leads the Research Unit at Muna Kalati and oversees partnership engagements for the organisation.

As the Lead Software Developer at Muna Kalati, Papa Kow leads a dedicated team of developers, driving innovation and delivering impactful solutions for the organisation.
Christian Elongue
Executive Director
Ngnaoussi Elongué Cédric Christianis the founder of Muna Kalati and a leading figure in African children's book publishing. Motivated by the lack of representation in books for African children, he launched www.munakalati.org in 2017 and the Muna Kalati magazine in 2018. Christian has written over 331 articles on early childhood development, literacy and edtech, and is the author of the book, An Introduction to Children’s Book Publishing in Cameroon. He has served on the Executive Committee of IBBY International and is Vice-President of IBBY-Cameroon. A recognised Global Literacy Champion, he is committed to expanding access to quality educational resources for African children and positively shaping narratives about Africa from Africa.

Oumy Keïta is a former book ambassador for an Ivorian publishing house. She is passionate about audiovisual communication and content creation. She is the creator of the literary podcast Cocon Spirituel and also works as a videographer. Oumy has produced video content for the 2024 Abidjan International Book Fair, showcasing her expertise in literary promotion and multimedia.

Sahara Abdi
Sahara Abdi is a dedicated literacy advocate, writer, and founder of the Northern Voice Trust, focusing on the education of children from pastoral and marginalized communities in northern Kenya. Sahara’s deep personal insights into the challenges faced by pastoralists and ethnic minorities drive her mission to create literature that represents and inspires these children. Her notable works, including Araweelo, A Boy Named Salah, and My Brother With The Colourful Brain, have been translated into Somali, Afar, Swahili, and French, broadening their reach and impact. Sahara’s contributions also include short stories featured in various African anthologies, reinforcing her role as a prominent advocate for literacy and inclusion in Africa.

Marcelline is a third-year student in business communication from Burkina Faso. A passionate animator for young children and adolescents, she is also a poet. Marcelle has actively participated in various literature-related activities (reading, storytelling, theater, etc.) with children and adolescents. In addition, she has held several positions, including President of the adolescent group of the ICCV (Initiative Communautaire Changer la Vie Nazeremse).She is also the promoter of "Pendo Workshops," an initiative aimed at promoting reading among younger audiences.

Christelle Zami is an accomplished author, rapporteur, interpreter-translator, and educational consultant. She is renowned for her “Ami Series,” a collection of children’s books designed to inspire environmental stewardship in young readers through engaging narratives and vivid illustrations. Ami's expertise extends to linguistic mediation, where her skills as a translator and interpreter are sought after in international and educational forums. As an educational consultant, she works with schools and organizations to develop innovative curricula that promote environmental and multilingual education. Ami’s multifaceted career reflects her deep commitment to nurturing young minds and championing environmental and educational causes.

Her publishing house, Celi Editions (present in Tunisia and Senegal), publishes educational and early-learning books and works for parents, with a constant concern for quality. Its aim is “to introduce toddlers to reading by offering suitable books at affordable prices”.
