WHO WE ARE
Muna Kalati is an EdTech dedicated to providing educational resources for African children in the form of eBooks, audiobooks, and animations through the Muna Kalati app. The Muna Kalati app directly serves African children, parents, and educators.
WHAT WE DO
Muna Kalati has built a Netflix of African animations and a Kindle of African books to promote a love for learning within the African child. The app and its web version also serve as a marketplace for publishers, animators, and content providers to monetize their work.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Muna Kalati is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Product Manager to manage, organize and coordinate the growth, and optimization of the Muna Kalati app. This role is central to our mission of promoting culturally relevant educational content. The Product Manager will work at the intersection of technology, education, and African storytelling, ensuring our digital platforms meet the needs of children, educators and parents across Africa and the diaspora.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and execute the product roadmap in alignment with Muna Kalati’s mission to promote African children’s content and digital literacy.
Conduct user research, analyze feedback from children, parents, educators, and animators to inform product decisions that meet real-life needs.
Collaborate with developers, designers, content creators, and marketing teams to design, build, and launch impactful features on the Muna Kalati App and digital platforms.
Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, prioritizing features, tracking progress, managing timelines, and ensuring timely delivery.
Use analytics and KPIs to monitor product performance, user engagement, and retention, and iterate based on insights.
Work with partners to onboard high-quality educational content (animations, audiobooks, eBooks) and ensure a seamless user experience across devices.
Identify new opportunities to expand product reach, increase app downloads, and drive platform monetization and scalability across African markets.
QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
2-3 years of experience in product management, preferably in edtech, media, or mobile app development.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Familiarity with user research, UX/UI design principles, and agile methodologies.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of app performance metrics and digital platform optimization.
